Anti-Racism Youth Summit 2025

On May 18th , 2025, HMF Youth held the first Anti-Racism Youth Summit that was planned, organized, and delivered by youth. The Summit was well attended by over a 100 youth.

The summit started by Muhammad Adil, a student at the University of Manitoba highlighting the importance of such an event:

"This summit matters because racism—whether subtle or overt—still deeply affects our communities, our schools, our workplaces, and our everyday lives. As young people, we are not just future leaders—we are leaders now. We have the power to challenge discrimination, amplify marginalized voices, and build a more just and inclusive society.

For Muslim youth especially, this is a chance to confront Islamophobia, share our lived experiences, and stand in solidarity with others facing racial injustice. Today is about learning the tools, building the networks, and growing the confidence to be agents of change—not just for ourselves, but for the generations after us."

A number of sessions were delivered by youth from different community organizations, as detailed in the agenda below.
