A Summer of Growth: Youth Summer Program 2026

We are delighted to celebrate another successful season of our Youth Summer Program, a two-month program designed to keep youth engaged, active, and learning throughout the summer. The program brought together a diverse group of youth for a wide variety of leadership building activities, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences.

Throughout the program, youth took part in a rich mix of sessions, including a money stories program, mulitiple podcast production in collaboration with U Multicultural, and on publishing the second edition of HMF Youth Magazine to share their stories witht the wider-community. They also organized a fundraiser, informal hangout sessions, and heard from guest presenters including a paramedic and a medical student among several others.

The youth also had the opportunity to be part of the steering committee, helping plan and prepare for the 2026 Youth Anti-Racism Summit, giving them a real voice in shaping community events. The summer wrapped up with celebrations that brought the group together to mark their achievements and the friendships they built along the way.

Through this wide range of activities, participants built new skills, gained confidence, and formed meaningful connections with their peers and mentors. We extend our sincere thanks to all the staff, volunteers, and guest presenters who helped make this summer possible, and we congratulate every youth participant on their engagement and enthusiasm throughout the program.

We look forward to welcoming the youth back for future programming as we continue to invest in their growth, leadership, and sense of belonging in the community.
