When you step back and look at the bigger picture, you’ll see that in the face of tragedy, you have a choice. Will you resist and deny Allah’s destiny and wisdom? Or will you recognize that you have the strength to endure what you’re facing? Every trial you encounter is part of Allah’s plan, and He has promised you can handle it. This ayah is comforting because it reassures us that, while difficulties may arise, you were made strong enough to overcome them, and no hardship lasts forever.

In times of hardship, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed by the struggles we face. In these trials of faith, if we’re not careful, Satan may sow fear and doubt in our hearts. In such vulnerable moments, emotions can cloud our beliefs, causing our faith to weaken. Islam teaches us to remain steadfast by relying on Allah’s Mercy and Grace. We pray for His protection from life’s challenges, and to receive His mercy, we must show mercy to others. Be kind.

Human actions stem from one’s knowledge and intelligence, reflecting the state of their soul. Actions reveal and shape a person’s character.

In the verse, “rahīn” can mean a pledge or hostage, suggesting that actions are a person’s pledge to God for either reward or punishment. However, Tafsīr-e Namūneh interprets “rahīn” as continuous presence, meaning actions remain with a person forever, shaping their soul and status with God.

Since actions define our eternal form and journey, we should focus on refining them, just as we care for our physical body. Recite this verse to remind yourself that your deeds are your eternal companion, so beautify them while you can for the journey ahead.

Faith is not always constant; we experience times when our faith is strong and other times when it feels weak. Interestingly, the Arabic word for heart, “qalb,” literally means “to turn.” This reminds us to regularly reflect on the state of our hearts and ask Allah to keep them steadfast in faith.

Allah’s Messenger (Pbuh) said: Verily, the hearts of all the sons of Adam are between the Two Fingers out of the fingers of the Compassionate Lord as one heart. He turns that towards any (direction) He likes. Then Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) said: 0 Allah, the Turner of the hearts, turn our hearts towards your obedience. #islamicreminders #fridayreminders

« Last summer, in 2023, the summer youth team embarked on a creative journey that culminated in the publication of their first book, «  »Abraha and the Elephants. » » This collaborative effort saw the youth team coming together to weave a captivating tale, combining their diverse imaginations and perspectives into a cohesive narrative.

The story was brought to life visually through the talented illustrations of Zaynab and Sarah, whose artistry added depth and charm to the pages. Despite the initial decision to leave the story unpublished, the team’s dedication and perseverance led to its eventual release in the summer of 2024.

Now, « Abraha and the Elephants » has found its place among readers, available for purchase on Amazon. This achievement marks not only the fulfillment of a creative endeavor but also a testament to the power of teamwork and youthful creativity. Please find the Amazon link in bio.
